Our panelists, moderated by Dr. Shawna Patterson-Stephens, will be discussing how to maintain the various networks of our lives through this period of isolation, as well as highlighting the long history of informal networks utilized by womxn of color. 

  • Shawna Patterson-Stephens: Dr. Shawna Patterson-Stephens is Student Affairs’ associate vice chancellor for the Office of Inclusion and lntercultural Relations. Dr. Patterson-Stephens most recently served as the director of the Davis Intercultural Center within the Office of Institutional Diversity and Equity at Williams College in Williamstown, MA.
  • Susan Aguiñaga: Dr. Aguiñaga is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Kinesiology and Community Health. Dr. Aguiñaga is committed to advancing the scientific knowledge that addresses health disparities in cognition and dementia-related diseases through community-based physical activity research.
  • Deidre Weathersby: Dr. Weathersby is the Associate Director of Outreach and Prevention and the Co-Chair of Sankofa Black Student Outreach Team at the Counseling Center. Her theoretical orientation includes interpersonal process and multicultural counseling theories.
  • Isis Rose: Isis Rose is a doula, childbirth educator, and certified lactation counselor. She provides holistic, practical birth care for all birthing people across the spectrum of pregnancy including birth, postpartum, loss, and abortion.
