Turkey season is right around the corner and this hands-on calling and turkey preparation workshop will help get you ready. This FREE workshop is open for participants 18+ years of age, registration is required. We are going to process a bird in front of you, from field to plate. We will discuss all the ways to care for your turkey after the harvest and show you how to break it down. We will cover meat storage and food safety and cook a turkey lunch on site. While the turkey cooks, we will give a turkey calling demonstration and discuss calling strategies. Bringing your own calls is encouraged but we will have some pot calls and box calls for you to try out. Register today as spots are limited. 11:15 am - Turkey Processing from field to kitchen (field dressing, plucking, skinning, butchering, and storage)
12:15 pm - Meal Preparation - Turkey Schnitzel
1:00 pm - Turkey Calling - Box, pot, and mouth call
2:00 PM - Turkey Lunch - Turkey Gumbo with Turkey Schnitzel and Gravy
