University of Illinois Law Review
Symposium on Election Law

March 3, 2023
Room 215 (Faculty Lounge)
College of Law

8:30 am – 3:00 pm

As we head to a presidential election in 2024, election law has never been more important. Does the law adequately protect voting rights? Can it fairly resolve challenges to election results and protect orderly transfers of power? What is the proper role of courts in election processes and disputes? Can election law promote confidence in elections and their outcomes? Can the law overcome political polarization? What role should lawyers play on election day? How can the law prevent or respond to election-related violence? Are reforms needed? The nation’s leading experts in law and democracy will take up these and other pressing issues.
