This is part of the Native American House, Dinner on Us series

Dinner on Us (DOU) is administered by the Native American House (NAH) and is part of the Lunch on Us Series within Student Success, Inclusion & Belonging. This DOU program features Dr. David Norman, Chancellor's Postdoctoral Research Associate, American Indian Studies.

David W. Norman holds a PhD from the University of Copenhagen. His research focuses on questions of site-specificity, materiality, and self-determination in contemporary Indigenous art, particularly in Kalaallit Nunaat (Greenland) and the broader circumpolar region. He is also developing several new projects that examine land-based art constructed in resistance to, and in some cases in complicity with, settler colonial land management practices. His research has appeared in publications such as OctoberPeripeti, and exhibition catalogues for Nuuk Art Museum and the IAIA Museum of Contemporary Native Arts.
