CLE: Anatomy of a Pandemic

“Anatomy of a Pandemic” covers key legal and ethical issues that have arisen in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The course looks at these events and issues in the context of an American legal system that must shift during a public health emergency from an emphasis on individual rights and local sovereignty to special laws and authorities that focus on much broader interests and needs. The course questions whether those special emergency laws and authorities function effectively given our normal legal culture and governmental structure, with its focus on liberal democratic and federalist principles.
This course is approved for 1.00 Illinois MCLE general credit hours.
