Race Against Racism
The Student Bar Association, Women’s Law Society, and Black Law Students Association will host a virtual Race Against Racism 5K on Saturday, October 3 to benefit the Champaign County NAACP. Entry fee is $10, and additional donations are welcome.
How does a virtual 5K work? The same as any 5K, but you pick your own course (and let’s be honest, your own distance). Walk, jog, run, bike from any location you choose (treadmill, trail, road) from wherever you currently are at whatever time works for you.
Share your walk or run on social media using the hashtags: #5kyourway #UIUCRAR #runforacause and make sure to tag @UIUCwellness.
One College, One Book
"The Black Family in the Age of Mass Incarceration," by Ta-Nehisi Coates
Special Guest Speaker: Corey Stoughton
The University of Illinois College of Law, in partnership with the SBA, BLSA, and the Albert E. Jenner, Jr. Law Library is pleased to host a new initiative to further the racial justice conversation in our community, "One College, One Book." There will be some prepared questions to lead the discussion, but we will leave room for questions from the floor.
We hope you will join us in continuing the dialogue started by the Townhall: Perspectives on George Floyd and Beyond.
