UIC Perinatal Center Courses and Conferences

Program Objectives:

  • Discuss the evolution, conceptual, and evidence base of developmental care for newborns and their families.
  • Describe examples of care practices based on NIDCAP philosophy that can improve care for newborns and families.
  • Identify the major neurologic processes in fetal and newborn brain development and when they occur; the major biobehavioral shifts in infancy; and sensitive periods for infants and parents.

Target Audience: This includes physicians, RNs, and APNs in the perinatal specialty.
