Abstract:

There are many potential paths for commercializing software, ranging from launching a startup company to finding an industry partner to releasing your work in the open source, and more. Svetlana Sowers, Assistant Director in the Office of Technology Management, will discuss the different options, how to know which is best for you, and successful examples from the University. The presentation will also include the fundamentals of technology transfer, patenting and copyright, as well as an overview of University resources that support entrepreneurs.
