The Illinois preselection period is now open for Mayo Clinic’s Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF), a 10-week program that invites students to work alongside Mayo Clinic researchers on cutting-edge biomedical research.
This special preselection process allows University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign students to submit their SURF application to a selection committee of Illinois faculty and staff. Up to seven of Mayo Clinic’s prestigious fellowships are reserved for Illinois sophomores and juniors who are seriously considering a biomedical research career as a Ph.D. or M.D.-Ph.D. Eligibility and program details can be found on the Mayo Clinic & Illinois Alliance website. You may also view a recording of the informational session detailing the application process for SURF as well as the Health Equity Research Experience and Clinical Research Internship Study Program.
The deadline to apply for SURF preselection is Monday, Nov. 3 at 11:59 p.m. Please contact LeaAnn Carson with questions.
