The Mayo Clinic & Illinois Alliance is pleased to welcome Dr. Tobias Peikert to the Illinois campus. Dr. Peikert is co-director of the Mayo Clinic Lung Cancer Clinic, with interest in translational research in tumor immunology, viro-immunotherapy, and the development of imaging biomarkers for thoracic malignancies.
The presentation, "Imaging biomarkers in lung cancer: A CANARY in the coal mine" will discuss the development and implantation of new non-invasive CT based imaging biomarkers for the classification and risk-stratification of incidentally and screen-detected lung nodule. The main focus will be on CANARY (Computer Aided Nodule Analysis and Risk Yield) and a radiomics model to differentiate benign and malignant nodules. The presentation will also include data correlating imaging findings with histology and an molecular changes.
