Listening to Labor History at Lunch
This lunchtime course examines U.S. labor history through an investigation of some of the greatest songs of the last century. Each class meeting, conducted over Zoom from 12:00 to 1:00, uses a single song as a jumping-off point into a larger investigation of workers’ struggles for justice. The class culminates in a collective “mixtape” assignment, where all participants collaborate to create an online archive of songs from which we can take inspiration in the struggles ahead.
