Virtual Class Course Objective: Be able to understand and describe fundamentals of newborn assessment and care as it relates to a comprehensive review of body systems and conditions affecting the newborn.

Target Audience: Registered nurses working OB, PP/MB, NB Nursery, Level I, Level II, and Level II-e Nursery (not NICU RNs) with clinical perinatal experience/tenure of 2 weeks. RN must work in the IL Perinatal Network. University of Chicago Medicine is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.

Criteria for Awarding Contact Hours: Participants who successfully complete the entire activity and complete an evaluation form will earn 7.75 contact hours.

  • Attendance for the entire presentation.
  • Complete an evaluation form
  • By registering for this course, you confirm that I will have functioning audio and visual for the duration of the class and my camera will be on.
  • Please note if more than 15 minutes late to class start time, you will NOT be able to enter the virtual learning platform.
