The Writers Workshop is going to experiment with a virtual version of our Spring Break Mini-Retreat. The Retreat will now run from Wednesday (3/18) – Friday (3/20), from 9:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. each day.
We will create a Google Hangouts Group Conversation. This is essentially a group chat and will allow us to set goals together, take scheduled breaks, and wrap-up and celebrate accomplishments each morning. You wouldn’t need to enable a web cam or mic to participate.
If you’re up for this, please register in advance. You will need to use a Gmail address. We’ll send you the Group Conversation link to that email address each morning to start our virtual writing group.
While we hope this will offer at least some support and interaction for the writing process, we’re interested in other ideas that folks might have for continuing virtual writing groups after Spring Break. Please email me at cwisnie@illinois.edu with any suggestions.
