“Mingle Like You Mean It: How to make networking work for you” will emphasize the importance of networking now and throughout your career, will provide examples of how to initiate conversations/connections, and will offer some easy and practical tips to expand your networks through reframing how we think about networking. It’s all about making connections that matter and turning networking into a fun and meaningful activity!
This session will be led by Katie Walker. Katie currently serves as the Director of Employee Experience within the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Institutional Advancement where she oversees recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement, and professional development for a community of professionals dedicated to fundraising, stewardship, and alumni relations. She received her bachelors in communication and psychology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and her MBA from Eastern Illinois University. Her networking journey started as an undergrad through an internship that led her to her love and passion for recruitment, and ultimately, back to her alma mater.
