Set your company up for success by building a compelling and fundable NSF Project Pitch from the very beginning.
The NSF Project Pitch is your first step in the SBIR/STTR process—and one of the most important. This session will focus on how to clearly communicate your innovation, demonstrate commercial potential, and align with NSF’s mission and priorities. A well-crafted Project Pitch not only opens the door to a full proposal invitation but also sets the tone for your company’s long-term funding strategy.
Topics will include: identifying and highlighting the innovation and societal impact of your technology, understanding what NSF reviewers look for, aligning your pitch with commercial potential, and avoiding common pitfalls that reduce your chances of moving forward.
Our presenter for May is Kris Parmelee, an SBIR/STTR expert and long-time consultant with the FAST Center. Kris brings over 20 years of experience in grant development, with the last decade focused almost exclusively on helping early-stage tech companies navigate SBIR/STTR funding and long-term project management. She started her career in nonprofit program development and has since supported hundreds of clients in developing successful private foundation and federal grant proposals. With deep experience in both strategy and execution, Kris helps teams think beyond just Phase I and prepare for sustained growth and success.
