Decentralized Finance has become an exciting component of the cryptocurrency ecosystem as people look for ways to borrow, lend, and earn yield on money without institutional middle-men. Our speaker this month will introduce us to the project aiming to be the first DeFi protocol on the Cardano blockchain. Dewayne Cameron is the founder of the Liqwid Finance protocol and leader of the team developing it. The protocol is being developed open source and is governed by the LiqwidDAO, which will allow community members to vote on how things are run. The Liqwid team believes their DAO-first approach will support and advance the protocol in the most secure method possible. Join us to learn more about Liqwid Finance and why they chose Cardano for their entry to the DeFi world.

This is group is for anyone interested in distributed ledger technology (i.e. blockchains, cryptography, smart contracts, decentralized applications (DApps) cryptocurrency/tokens, and relevant related subjects). Everyone is welcome! We will meet once a month and will have an educational component as well as a discussion component at our meetups.
