Join the Data Science User Group from 12-1PM on Friday, May 7. The aim of the user group is to build a community of interest around data science to foster learning, collaboration, and networking. The group will serve both students and professionals to bridge the gap between the analytical sciences and practical applications of industry.

Anyone is invited and included, from undergraduate students (or younger!) to seasoned professionals. There is no requirement for admission, only an interest in learning more about data science.

For our May meetup, we are excited to welcome John Dwyer and Collin Rector from the Champaign County Emergency Management Agency.  They will summarize their use of data in various contexts and explain how they use it to support the citizens of Champaign County. The examples discussed will include the use of historical data to predict locations of lost people and how we established critical supply chain metrics during the COVID-19 pandemic.

For more information on how to join our virtual meetup, visit our Meetup page here.

Interested in joining other peer-sharing groups about tech and entrepreneurialism? Be sure to check-out our other monthly meetup groups here.
