Join us on Thursday, July 23 from 12-1PM for a virtual workshop on stress and negativity led by Gina Johnson. Register in advance for this meeting: https://illinois.zoom.us/meeting/register/tJEvf-mvrz4rHNCoe5VfENK3F2wZ0JnBWfRl.
In this workshop, we will discuss the different types of stress, including eustress and distress. We will discuss how distress leads to burnout and what the signs of burnout look like in the helping profession. We want to help individuals to see that distress also triggers negativity bias and if we are unaware of our coping mechanisms and habit loops we will unintentionally become burnout.
Gina’s goal is to empower workshop attendees to learn the signs and triggers of burnout and develop a self-care plan to prevent it. We will spend time learning practical strategies on the areas that we can control: thoughts, attitudes, efforts and actions.
Gina Johnson earned her Master of Social Work degree from the University of Illinois and went on to become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She has advanced certifications in the areas of trauma/loss and life/business coaching. Gina has 20 years of experience helping people of all ages improve the quality of their lives.
