Join the Data Science User Group from 12-1PM on Friday, March 5. For our March meetup, we'll be hearing from a couple of great speakers from the University of Illinois' School of Information Sciences. Chieh-Li “Julian” Chin, Research Program Manager working at the School of Information Sciences and a Data Analyst with the Data & Technology Innovation team at the Technology Services in the UIUC, will be speaking on fostering learning and engagement in smart community data science projects to address socio-technical challenges and promote digital inclusion.
Then Rezvaneh (Shadi) Rezapour, Ph.D. Candidate at the School of Information Sciences, will be presenting on the effects of exposure to information sources of different types and modalities, such as social media, movies, scholarly reports, and interactions with other communities and how they can change a person’s values as well as their knowledge and attitude towards various social phenomena.
The meetup will be hosted online via Zoom. You an find the Zoom link HERE. Please RSVP for the event at the CU-DSUG Meetup Page.
The aim of the user group is to build a community of interest around data science to foster learning, collaboration, and networking. The group will serve both students and professionals to bridge the gap between the analytical sciences and practical applications of industry.
Anyone is invited and included, from undergraduate students (or younger!) to seasoned professionals. There is no requirement for admission, only an interest in learning more about data science.
