Drawing upon the Barbadian scholar and poet Kamau Brathwaite’s assertion that the “noise” is part of the meaning, Jiménez, author of What Happened to Ruthy Ramirez, explores the pedagogical implications of teaching “voice” in the creative writing workshop.
