This panel is the inaugural event in a series of OVCRI-sponsored events and conversations into the future.  This event seeks to create a space for promoting better shared understanding of human subject protections and Institutional Review Board functioning for humanists, social scientists, and other scholars engaged in qualitative or ethnographic research.  The panel is especially concerned with facilitating critical conversations about research ethics, especially related to researching human subjects of color and from other historically underrepresented groups.
