Optical Character Recognition (OCR) transforms images with text such as scans of historical documents, book chapters, or even a handout from your class into machine readable and searchable data. This workshop demonstrates the basic uses of OCR software and gives an overview of OCR software available in the Scholarly Commons. You will get an opportunity to try both ABBYY FineReader and Adobe Acrobat.
