This artist talk by Danielle Andress will examine the shared lineages of weaving and modern computing languages. Tracing the history of loom development and the social upheaval that followed the introduction of the Jacquard loom in 1804, this lecture considers the ongoing tension between mass media and art, destabilized systems of organization, and the power of slow craft.
