Luis Alfaro is a MacArthur fellow and associate professor of dramatic writing in the School of Dramatic Arts at the University of Southern California. He is perhaps best known for his trilogy of tragedies—Electricidad, Oedipus El Rey, and Mojada, adapted from works by Sophocles and Euripides. These plays have been produced in a wide variety of venues, including the Mark Taper Forum, the Goodman Theatre, and the Public Theater, and in countries around the world.
