This information session is for graduate students interested in applying to the inaugural Interseminars graduate cohort (2022-2023) on the theme of “Imagining Otherwise: Speculation in the Americas.” The Interseminars Initiative has been made possible by a generous grant from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and seeks to build communities of inquiry among graduate students and faculty at the University of Illinois around emerging research directions in the interdisciplinary humanities and arts. Admission to the graduate cohort comes with a $25,000 graduate fellowship for the 2022-2023 academic year, plus a $5,000 summer fellowship (two total) for summer 2022 and 2023. Fellows will take part in planning and enrolling in two graduate seminars, two short summer workshops, and a final, community/public-facing event in fall 2023. Students from backgrounds historically underrepresented in higher education are especially encouraged to apply. Read more information about the fellowship.

Register to attend the October 28 Zoom info session. Another info session will be held on November 2 at 4:00 p.m.
