Abstract
We propose an electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft for transportation between cities separated by a short distance (<200 miles). The aircraft will carry ten passengers and is meant to replace shuttle buses as a faster and more direct form of transportation. A genetic optimization based method of determining key parameters for the air shuttle is proposed. A preliminary power system architecture was developed along with a detailed Simulink model to enable failure analysis. Initial studies were done to determine trade-offs in the co-design of a motor-propeller pair.
