Abstract

As part of an interdisciplinary project with other university departments, this work is examining the ways in which a water-dependent electric grid model can be developed for joint water-energy analysis. This dependence of the electric grid on water will be examined using two different approaches. The first is by directly adding water in as a fuel cost; the second is to incorporate water usage parameters (which vary with plant configuration) and introducing MW constraints that limit the maximum power these generation units have. The presentation will briefly introduce how these methods are implemented.
