Join us for this semester's Chicago Field Trip! We will once again hear the Chicago Symphony Orchestra live in concert in Symphony Center on Michigan Avenue. The show will feature Dvorák’s famous and thrilling Cello Concerto, as well as Tchaikovsky’s renowned Sleeping Beauty suite! Danish conductor Nikolaj Szeps-Znaider and soloist Jian Wang will make this an unforgettable experience.
We will meet at the Honors House for coffee and donuts at 8:00am on Sunday, October 25 and travel by comfy and wifi-inclusive Peoria Charter Bus to downtown Chicago. We'll attend an informal pre-concert conversation in Symphony Center and then hear the concert. Afterwards, we'll have dinner at nearby Pizano's. We'll be back on campus in the late evening.
Transportation, concert ticket, and dinner are provided by the CHP. You only need to bring a sack lunch, a water bottle, and money for incidental expenses. (You can also buy your own lunch in Chicago.)
CHP staff members will join you, and we'll bring plenty of snacks for the bus too!
If this event is full when you try to register, please email chp@illinois.edu to be placed on the waitlist.
Please note that those who have already attended a previous Chicago Symphony Orchestra Trip may be asked to give priority to Chancellor's Scholars who have not yet had the opportunity to attend.
