Audrey Petty is an author of fiction, poetry, and creative nonfiction. Her work High Rise Stories: Voices from Chicago Public Housing addresses a human rights crisis through the stories of 26 residents from Chicago public housing. The narratives demonstrate the loving feelings that arose in the lives of residents despite the challenges of violence, gangs, pregnancy, and unemployment. The stories are compelling, and we are excited to hear your interpretations of the text.
Dinner will be served at 5:00pm, followed by a lecture from Audrey Petty.
