Cynthia Buckley, Professor, Sociology
The 2020 U.S. Census will have a great deal of impact on many areas, including immigration, diversity, elections, and more. What are the major changes between the 2010 and 2020, and how might these changes impact the future?
Cynthia Buckley, in addition to being a Professor of Sociology at the University of Illinois, is also an Adjunct Research Professor of the Population Studies Center at the University of Michigan. Her research focuses on state capacity in population data gathering, health and armed conflict, and reproductive health. She served with the US Census Bureau during the 2020 Census and has served as an internal observer for censuses in Russia, Kazakhstan, and the Republic of Georgia.
