Dr. Nafissa Thompson-Spires is the winner of the PEN/Open Book Awards, The Audie Award for Short Stories/Collections, the Art Seidenbaum Award for First Fiction, the Aspen Words Literary Prize, and is long listed for the 2018 National Book Award.
