The Intellectual Property Clinic is a joint effort between TEC and the University of Illinois College of Law in which law students prepare patent and/or trademark applications for selected participants from the Cozad New Venture Challenge, iVenture Accelerator, and the Illinois Innovation Prize entrants. The patent and/or trademark applications are prepared for free and under the supervision of Professor Joseph Barich. The value provided by this program to student startups is about $10,000-$12,000 per patent application and $2,000-$2,500 per trademark application.
Attendees will also hear from Eric Ives, Patent Coordinator at the Office of Technology Management. He will be talk about how they work with student entrepreneurs.
