  • Join us for our 2019 Economics Homecoming Celebration!

    Our Economics Celebration is an annual tradition, gathering alumni, students, faculty, staff, friends, and family. This event always takes place prior to the Illini Homecoming Football Game to get us in the illini spirit. The event is informal, so please wear your illini gear or something comfortable. We have food, beverages, games, and giveaways.

  • Registration and Guest Information

    We welcome economics students, alumni, faculty, staff, and friends along with your guests to enjoy our celebration. In order to accomodate all attendees, please make sure to register by October 11th, 2019. The registration form will allow you to enter your guests. This is a family friendly event!

    Make sure to check-in at our Homecoming Celebration table located at the tent entrance, so you may collect your t-shirt and add your name into the raffle! 

  • Location and Parking

    Homecoming is located on the South Quad Lawn area to the East of David Kinley Hall (between DKH and Mumford). View the Map for tent location and parking options.
    Attendees may park in the same location for both the tailgate and the game (if you are going). We recommend parking in lots F4 or F14 as they are typically free and relatively close (within 3-5 minutes walk) to the tailgate. You may view the Campus Parking Map to find additional parking lots. There are meters on some streets and in some lots, please make sure to check if there is a charge on Saturdays. Do Not park at bagged meters or reserved spots/lots (some are reserved at all times).

    You can also pay to park at one of the lots provided by the Department of Athletics. Find paid lot parking information on the Gameday Information page.

  • Activities

    GIVEAWAYS
    Make sure to arrive to our tailgate by 9:30 am to enter your name into a drawing for one of our Economics Sweatshirts! Everyone that arrives will recieve a free tshirt and some Econ swag (While supplies last).

    GAMES
    We encourage guests to bring any outdoor games to play in the large lawn area. 

  • Food and Beverage

    The Department will be offering a catered breakfast at no cost to you or your guests! Food will include eggs, bacon/ sausage, potatoes, pastries and beverages. You will need to RSVP to the event so we can ensure we have enough food. Please see the RSVP section.

  • Football Game Day Info

    Cheer on the Fighting Illini as they take on Wisconsin at 11am!

    You can purchase game tickets by visiting tickets.fightingillini.com or clicking here. Tickets range from $35-$70 in price depending on where you sit. For more information on tickets and game day visit the "Gameday Guide" page on the Fighting Illini website here. 

  • Hotel Accommodations

    In need of a hotel? Nearby hotels within walking distance to our tailgate and the game are listed below, but there are a number of other options. Hotels have parking and restaurants on site or next door. Make sure to book early as they fill up quickly during Homecoming.
