Disease Dynamics in Birds: Data on disease prevalence and dynamics is lacking for raptors because they are difficult to capture and cover such broad home ranges.   Combining samples from birds of prey admitted for rehabilitation and raptors trapped throughout Central Illinois, we have been using antibody profiles to several avian pathogens to track population-level infection history.  Our 12-year data set is helping to identify potential conservation issues associated with disease in raptors.
