Ticks have been a hot topic and everywhere this year. More people have visited the emergency room for tick bites in 2026 than ever before. There’s so much information available, but what is hype and what is real? Attend this event to learn all about ticks in Illinois and get tips on how to be proactive and prepared. Nancy will cover tick identification, related diseases, tick prevention, and the latest research on ticks.

About Nancy Kuhajda

Nancy Kuhajda is the Illinois Horticulture Educator serving Will, Grundy, and Kankakee Counties. Nancy has been with Illinois Extension for 25 years, first as a program coordinator for the Master Gardener, Master Naturalist, and Master Composter programs and currently is the Horticulture Educator. Nancy specializes in insects, gardening through the lifespan, and specialized gardening for specific groups. Nancy earned her bachelor's and master's from the University of Illinois Extension at Urbana-Champaign.
