The Center for Sustainable Infrastructure and PPRC are excited to announce the Inaugural Pacific Northwest Industrial Symbiosis Conference! June 29th & 30th, 8 AM - 4 PM, in Vancouver, Washington.
This two-day conference brings together the Pacific Northwest's leading industrial symbiosis (IS) practitioners, business innovators, economic development professionals, and industry leaders from both the public and private sectors. This conference builds on exciting investments by the Washington State Legislature, Department of Commerce, and other state bodies to bring Industrial Symbiosis to the PNW.
Industrial symbiosis (IS) is the practice of harvesting waste streams (energy, water, and materials) from one facility to be repurposed as a valuable resource for another. Pioneered in Denmark, IS is a ground-breaking approach to infrastructure and economic development, which can strengthen local economies, reduce waste, and enhance environmental outcomes just by doing more with existing local resources.
