Abstract
Reflection is often cited as a critical component of effective teaching, but the term itself and related practices of reflection remain rather amorphous. In this seminar we will explore essential elements of highly-effective reflective practices for the practicing educator. Participants will re-discover practical strategies to encourage personal reflection, as well as reflective engagement with students and with colleagues. Through collaboration with others, attendees will evaluate various reflection techniques and consider how purposeful reflection can support equity-minded engineering practitioners.
