The Health and Environmental Applications Laboratory (HEAL), while relatively new, has existed at the Illinois State Water Survey in some form since the Survey’s founding over 100 years ago. The objective, however, has remained relatively constant: to analyze water samples and provide chemistry data to researchers and the public. Formerly known as either the Public Service Laboratory or the Central Analytical Laboratory, HEAL was created in 2018 to combine these two groups. As a “service” laboratory, HEAL is here to meet the needs of PRI researchers. This presentation will summarize HEAL’s analytical offerings, operations, and future direction.
Feedback from the audience will be highly encouraged!
A snack reception will be held before the seminar from 11:15–11:30 am.
