The 16th Annual Meeting of the Illinois Language and Linguistics Society (ILLS16) is now open for registration. ILLS is an annual graduate student-run linguistics conference aimed primarily at providing graduate and advanced undergraduate students a friendly venue in which to present and discuss research on any topic related to language and linguistics.
ILLS16 will be held from March 1 to 2, 2024 at I Hotel & Illinois Conference Center (1900 S 1st St, Champaign, IL 61820). We welcome all U of I students who are interested in linguistics. If you would like to attend ILLS16, early registration is now open, and it is free for all U of I system students. Please see our official website (https://ills.linguistics.illinois.edu) to register and to see the conference schedule!
The conference theme for ILLS16 is “Language, Mind, and Society.” We hold that an interdisciplinary exchange of ideas and a collaborative approach to language from a multitude of avenues is fundamental to the advancement of language research and the subsequent understanding of our world, cultures, and societies. Our plenary speakers include:
Dr. Michael Tanenhaus (University of Rochester)
Dr. Rajka Smiljanic (University of Texas at Austin)
Dr. Ruth Kramer (Georgetown University)
Dr. Salvatore Callesano (University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign)
