Mark DeLancey is Professor and Chair of History of Art and Architecture at DePaul University and current president of the Arts Council of the African Studies Association. He will present research on the Askia Tomb in Gao, Mali, built in 1495 CE by Askia Mohammed, emperor of the Songai Empire
