The IX Illinois Portuguese Language Connection will take place at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign on Saturday, February 26, 2022. This year's theme will be the celebration of 100 years of the Modern Art Week. Details on the event, and registration form, can be found here.

The main motivation for this annual meeting is to bring together Portuguese students from the three largest universities in Illinois to interact in Portuguese, in a dynamic and festive event. The Illinois Portuguese Language Connection is a collaborative initiative between the 3 largest universities in Illinois: Northwestern University, The University of Chicago, and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Program:

  • 12:30pm - 2:00pm: Welcome and lunch (at Siebel Center for Design)
  • 2:00pm - 4:00pm -  Art project and guided tour to the Ricker Library (Rare Art and Manuscript Library)
  • 4:00pm to 5:30pm - Music Performance by Livia Nestrovski and Henrique Eisenmann (at Lincoln Hall Theater)
