Inspired by the work of George Washington Carver and his use of everyday materials, Seitu Ken Jones looks at food, sustainability and visual art at the intersection of self-care and the Beloved community. Jones will delve into artistic responses to the environment, specifically how African American artists continue to shape and sustain their well-being. We will have the opportunity to learn more about Jones’s multidisciplinary practice and virtually visit his studio.

About Seitu Ken Jones:

George A. Miller Visiting Artist

Mr. Jones is a Saint Paul (MN) based artist whose interdisciplinary practice considers the historical construct of race and the desire to restore our Beloved communities through food, conversation and beauty. His practice aspires to create environmental and public artwork that honors and inspires communities. Seitu Jones Studio engages, advises and produces work that advances food and environmental justice through the arts and public sphere.
