Inga Chiosa (Deputy Director and Academic Director), Rob Ford (Director), and Tatiana Popa (English Teacher and Head of Global Education) from Heritage International School in Chișinău, Moldova) will give a presentation on Moldova's first international school and its experience working on community building and global collaboration. This event is part of the European Union Center's new Transatlantic Educators Lecture Series, a series of presentations by teachers for teachers. Presentations in the Transatlantic Educators Lecture Series explore education-related issues that are tied to a local and/or national context. 

Illinois teachers can receive up to 1.5 Professional Development Hours (PDH) for attending this lecture. In order to receive credit, please register here.

Speaker Bios:

Inga Chiosa is Deputy Director and Academic Director at Heritage International School. With over 25 years of teaching experience  in national and international schools, she has a large experience in teaching English as a Foreign Language and = involving students in global projects, connecting her students to the wider world through international competitions, collaborative projects and immersion in new cultures. Inga has experience in team building, professional development, strategic implementation and  designing educational programs and materials. Sheis Cambridge International PDQ Programme Leader in Teaching and Learning, Global School Alliance ambassador, eTwinning Teacher and Odyssey of the Mind Coach. Rob Ford is Director of Heritage International School in Chisinau, Moldova, the first international school in Moldova based on global learning principles and following the Cambridge International Assessment curriculum. Rob was previously Principal of Wyedean School, Gloucestershire, U.K. where he led a school nationally and internationally known for its innovative holistic curriculum and developed model of global learning. Rob has been a senior leader in leading schools in Wales and England. Rob is a long serving British Council Ambassador and has worked with and advised schools and school boards around the World. Rob recently published his first book based on his blog at Wyedean School, This Heart Shaped Land, available on Amazon. Rob is also the author of the blog “Mail from Moldova.”

Tatiana Popa is an English teacher and the Head of Global Education at Heritage International School in Chisinau, Moldova. Tatiana has been an eTwinning ambassador since 2015 and national teacher trainer on the use of web tools in education and the implementation of collaboration projects in the country for eTwinning Moldova and other organisations. She is an eTwinning European Prize winner, experienced global educator, and blogger.
