Achieving food security continues to be a daunting challenge for the African continent. But, while the challenge is enormous, so are the opportunities. With the right investments, strategies, policies, and the launch of programs and initiatives that take into consideration Africa’s smallholder farmer’s knowledge and wisdom while incorporating recent science-based and other technological innovations from Africa and around the world, Africa can indeed feed its growing population and achieve food security. This talk will cover the innovations and initiatives that stand to be most beneficial to the African continent as it strives to meet the challenge of feeding its growing population.
