Adaptively responding to the social environment is essential for survival, reproduction, and health in many species. Understanding how cell populations in the brain coordinate responses to the social environment is a difficult challenge, especially in non-traditional species. In this talk I will describe recent experiments in which my collaborators and I have used single cell omics to address this challenge in several non-traditional species.
