Become a more productive and effective PI, attend the Inclusive Lab Leaders workshops for spring 2019!
The Inclusive Lab Leaders workshops are a new program by the 21st Century Scientists Initiative at the Beckman Institute for Advanced Science and Technology. The goal of this program is to help PIs—new and veteran—become more effective at managing their research groups. There will be four sessions, all on Fridays from 9:30-11:30 a.m. at Beckman; coffee and fruit will be provided.
The first session on Feb. 8 will provide workshop attendees with the language, awareness, and understanding to create a culture of inclusion in their labs or research groups. It will include values-engaged exercises to help workshop members create brave spaces in their labs for innovation and productivity. Future sessions will address how to work through conflict in the lab, how to recognize and navigate power dynamics, and how to create sustainable structures to continue this work.
It is recommended PIs attend all four sessions to gain the most from the program.
