Talk description: Epidemiology means never having to say you’re certain, but decisions still have to be made. We will discuss examples across a variety of infectious diseases on how public health decision making can proceed under uncertainty, and how that decision making is improved by considering animal and environmental health.

Bio: Dr. Becky Smith is an infectious disease epidemiologist who splits her time between the College of Veterinary Medicine, the College of Medicine, and the IGB. Her work focuses on real-world application and response.
