About the Seminar: The Illinois State Archaeological Survey (ISAS) is a global leader in high-impact archaeological research and compliance. Developments over the last 5 years have expanded ISAS’s capabilities, community partnerships, and research, positioning the Prairie Research Institute (PRI) for a new future in cultural heritage management. In the next decade, ISAS’s growth will continue through strategic and innovative initiatives that invest in current and future staff; generate transformative, interdisciplinary, and collaborative research; and expand community partnerships and Tribal engagement in Illinois and beyond. With the right leadership, ISAS will remain at the forefront of archaeological compliance and research by engaging with descendant communities, state and federal agencies, NGOs such as environmental conservation and land management organizations, and other university departments and institutes.
