By highlighting KAM’s strong holdings of work from artists practicing in Chicago during the 20th century, this exhibition will ask what is a “Chicago artist” and what constitutes the “Chicago School”—ultimately exploring how styles and categories are fashioned and perpetuated, and how they may ultimately fall out of favor.
All exhibitions are free and open to the public. Please visit http://kam.illinois.edu for more information. Museum hours are 9am until 5pm Monday through Friday, Saturday 10am to 4pm. When classes are in session, KAM is open late until 9pm every Thursday.
