Abstract:  This talk will present research at the University of Illinois on Cloud Computing and discusses the latest findings from the Assured Cloud Computing Center in cloud architectures, performance studies, big data characteristics, data analytics, cyber security, plus discussion of applications of the cloud to smart cities, smart grids, and social networks.   I will also address some of the cloud related software defined network and mobile concerns.

About the speaker: Roy Campbell is Abbasi Professor of Computer Science, University of Illinois U-C, Aug. 2004-present.  His research interests - Problems and techniques of complex computer system organization and software engineering including: cloud computing, software development environments, operating systems, distributed and parallel systems, object-oriented design, networks, real-time systems, programming language design, verification, reliability, abstract data types, synchronization, data bases, security, fault tolerant systems, compilers, machine architecture, digital video and audio networking.
